2009 has been a faaantastic year for me, and i hope it has been the same for you.

hello :)

Ive had a hectic and crazy time the last few days. Had chalet and bbq last weekend, and a film shoot for 2 days.

As usual, bbq and chalet was fun and all. tiring and all worthwhile, at least. Seeing relatives and cousins get together, having fun and putting aside their hectic schedule for this yearly event has an overall good feeling to me :D

Went straight to work frm the chalet that monday morning. Was feeling veeeery sleepy in the office! It was a painfully slooooow day. thank god i was able to go through it finally.

3rd day of shooting arrives and it was a very interesting experience for me! i got to learn and discover lots of stuff along the way, some amusing, and some disturbing.

Gotta unpack all the equipment and all the gears for the shoot in the morning. I hate doing that. tiring and tedious at the same time

The short film's called Outliers, its an action/horror zombie 3D steroscopic movie! wont tell much, lets wait for the film to come out next year :D

everyone did really well, esp our local sg actors Randall Tan, Melody Chen and Edric Hsu, as well as the supporting zombies which does a fantastic job with the acting.

id love to babble on about how interesting and fun it was, but ill just save it for later. :)

and oh, merry xmas and have a long fantastic weekend ahead :D

ive just recently started to take a look back at my blog,

and ive realised how nice and pleasant it is to revisit back

all the things that i have blogged and post about.

i guess these are the things that makes having a blog

an interesting thing to have,

i enjoy going back to april, where all the memories of

birthdays and school assessments starts flooding back

into me like a giant powerpoint presentation,

or that day where i had my first freelance job

or or that particular september where i

first saw her in the school lab

or ill just go on to a random month and surprise

myself with whatever had happened on that month,

obviously i dont remember what exactly happened on

that day

till i see the pics or the poems or the stories

its these kinds of things that makes my day :)

if i could turn back time, i would go to the day where

i created this site and give myself a pat on the back for doing so. :D

looking back really makes me feel old.

but looking forward makes me feel young again.

its halfway through my internship with widescreen media, and it has been alright so far. time flies fast, eh? ive got another week with them and im off. looking at the working point of view, its actually interesting and promising in a way that i tink im gonna make it in the industry. i believe i can. :D

im trying to learn as much as i can, so that it will benefit me during my final year project next month.

im actually scared.

scared that we might not do well for our final semester in nafa.

im scared of graduating and not being able to find the job that i wanted.

im scared of not succeeding in what i wanted.

i just want things to stay like how it is now, as im having so much fun that its hard to let go.

but i guess its at this time where you will have to see where things lead to and get to know

who your real friends are

and how you handle these kind of things

that will determine your future.

Busy, exciting, interesting and tiring day today!

Had a filming shoot on an upcoming zombie film, shot on 3D camera and it was a really good learning experience :D gotta thank my intern director for letting me be on set to help out with the shoot. :)

"What Happened to All the Nice Guys?"

I see this question posted with some regularity in the personals section, so I thought I'd take a minute to explain things to the ladies out there that haven't figured it out.

What happened to all the nice guys?

The answer is simple: you did.

See, if you think back, really hard, you might vaguely remember a Platonic guy pal who always seemed to want to spend time with you. He'd tag along with you when you went shopping, stop by your place for a movie when you were lonely but didn't feel like going out, or even sit there and hold you while you sobbed and told him about how horribly the (other) guy that you were fucking treated you.

At the time, you probably joked with your girlfriends about how he was a little puppy dog, always following you around, trying to do things to get you to pay attention to him. They probably teased you because they thought he had a crush on you. Given that his behavior was, admittedly, a little pathetic, you vehemently denied having any romantic feelings for him, and buttressed your position by claiming that you were "just friends." Besides, he totally wasn't your type. I mean, he was a little too short, or too bald, or too fat, or too poor, or didn't know how to dress himself, or basically be or do any of the things that your tall, good-looking, fit, rich, stylish boyfriend at the time pulled off with such ease.

Eventually, your Platonic buddy drifted away, as your relationship with the boyfriend got more serious and spending time with this other guy was, admittedly, a little weird, if you werent dating him. More time passed, and the boyfriend eventually cheated on you, or became boring, or you realized that the things that attracted you to him weren't the kinds of things that make for a good, long-term relationship. So, now, you're single again, and after having tried the bar scene for several months having only encountered players and douche bags, you wonder, "What happened to all the nice guys?"

Well, once again, you did.

You ignored the nice guy. You used him for emotional intimacy without reciprocating, in kind, with physical intimacy. You laughed at his consideration and resented his devotion. You valued the aloof boyfriend more than the attentive "just-a-" friend. Eventually, he took the hint and moved on with his life. He probably came to realize, one day, that women aren't really attracted to guys who hold doors open; or make dinners just because; or buy you a Christmas gift that you mentioned, in passing, that you really wanted five months ago; or listen when you're upset; or hold you when you cry. He came to realize that, if he wanted a woman like you, he'd have to act more like the boyfriend that you had. He probably cleaned up his look, started making some money, and generally acted like more of an asshole than he ever wanted to be.

Fact is, now, he's probably getting laid, and in a way, your ultimate rejection of him is to thank for that. And I'm sorry that it took the complete absence of "nice guys" in your life for you to realize that you missed them and wanted them. Most women will only have a handful of nice guys stumble into their lives, if that.

So, if you're looking for a nice guy, here's what you do:

1.) Build a time machine.
2.) Go back a few years and pull your head out of your ass.
3.) Take a look at what's right in front of you and grab ahold of it.

I suppose the other possibility is that you STILL don't really want a nice guy, but you feel the social pressure to at least appear to have matured beyond your infantile taste in men. In which case, you might be in luck, because the nice guy you claim to want has, in reality, shed his nice guy mantle and is out there looking to unleash his cynicism and resentment onto someone just like you.

If you were five years younger.

So, please: either stop misrepresenting what you want, or own up to the fact that you've fucked yourself over. You're getting older, after all. It's time to excise the bullshit and deal with reality. You didn't want a nice guy then, and he certainly doesn't fucking want you, now.

vina has summed it up perfectly. im definitely gonna miss mm3C. :(

"So the final assessments are finally over, now we only have assessments for ISCG left.

I'm feeling kind of sad. This means our awesome class will finally separate to our respective majors.

*sigh

I really like being in C class. It was full of awesome supportive people. We have our share of problems, but it was quite small and contained. Over the course of two+ years, I'm sort of proud to say I've gotten to know every one of our class members better (*cough excluding the 3 China girls).

I really really enjoyed being in a class with you guys! Even though after NAFA we'll go on our own ways, let's not forget each other and try not to drift apart, OK?!

I'm getting sentimental. Hahaha~

This semester too, was full of good things. Animation was the only module where we have an individual project. Learning how to bone(pun not intended*cough) our characters and making them move, also the biped supersecret project we got to do for the second term. I know I was saying how biped sucks and is confusing, but towards the end I thought it was pretty fine. I guess humans really can get used to anything (and that kind of scares me).

AVP was awesome. We did a short film which is a CSI parody. Filming was super fun, if also tiring. SJ did the scripts, I was named producer, Russell was the director, Tawfik was the cameraman and Andri and Hafiz was actors. Of course that's not all, all of them contributed to the post-production too. I had to stay at school until 11.30 PM just to wait for the film to compress (but it was fun staying back that late with the other MM students, hahaha). Our Quicktime file was 7+GB. It was really really fun.

Anyways, I wanted to say: thank you so much! For the support during class time, for the amusement and friendly gossip and chatter, for the laughs and the lunches and dinners. For the nights spent together at the Labs. Thank you to MM3C for helping our group with our AVP, even though you're not our group members. Thank you to my group members, who's been enthusiastic and timely with the work they're supposed to do.

Thanks to the teachers who are awesomely cute~ it motivates me to actually come to class and pay attention. Our teachers are, I feel, really awesome. Even though sometimes, the modules can be quite exasperating. Seriously, this term there's not a single teacher whom I think is not cute. Teehee~

Also, of course, to my house-mates. Those nights we spent doing our respective works together while listening to the Korean Wave and/or horrifyingly lame Indonesian Songs. It keeps me from feeling sleepy, so thanks. Also, thanks for the daily gossips and going-ons which keep me updated~

Really, though, thank you for everything. You are still awesome! In fact, you've probably become even more awesome(awesomer?)!

Finally, assessments are (partially) over.

I just cant believe it. 14 weeks of year 3 passed by like nothing.

The final semester of my year in nafa is coming. am i glad? no. should i be glad? yes.

Im just afraid.

I had so much fun in school, with everyone, with friends,

going for lunch and dinner has never been more tiring and fun at the same time,

doing projects and laughing at youtube videos together,

taking nonsense pictures using the imac photobooth,

going back home at 11pm everyday,

getting chased out by the security guards when we bloody well know we have to leave by 11,

disturbing your schoolmates has been a norm,

going out to buy snacks or just to relax or chill your mind,

i think im gonna miss that.

not yet.

i still have 1 more semester to go

lets cherish those moments we have

for it will never come back

unless

we repeat the next semester again haha

ive gotta cheer up

and just do my best!

taking my diploma in nafa has been amazing.

I haven't slept for almost 19 hours now. lol. dead tired.

Today, apparently is a productive week :D
Went to school and continued doing some 3d animation and a bit of the short film script.

Had bubble tea for dinner. Fantastic. (sarcasm)
Not a lot of people came to sch, only the usual classmates and some from MM 3E.
Finished stuff at 11pm, wanted to eat with the guys but didn't feel hungry.

Went back home with Joselyn. :D :D

Did some work and research till 2am. Watched an indonesian film Claudia/Jasmine (halfway, not finished) till 4am? Clau was boasting how they made a film and song about her, bla bla bla. hahaha. dream on.

I cooked for supper! Turns out just nice, not that awesome :( and had breakfast at 5am.

Did some research till 7am.

And here i am now. present time.
i blogged cuz i need to wait for 10 more mins for a movie im torrenting to finish~ :X

Fifa 10 pc just wasnt up to my expectations :'(

the gameplay still didnt make the cut, it just cant beat pes on pc.
the graphics is, wel, recycled from fifa 09 with some enchancements.

wasnt able to sleep last night, idk why.

had my fyp folder submission today. everything was alright. total printing costs a freaking $25. :(

Stayed back in the lab to sleep. lol. And did character bones rigging on 3ds max. Was super tired by then.

I love snow leopard. Its just faster and quicker and nice.
even though its about the same cosmetically to the previous leopard OS,
ive never actually used leopard as my mac was installed with Tiger.
so its really alot of difference in terms of the interface and stuff. :D

initally, i tried doing an upgrade from tiger to snow leopard. it works! so that means whoever had a tiger os on their system can upgrade to snow leopard with the $49 install upgrade disk thats meant for leopard OS. :D

The upgrade took 45 mins. >.< but its okay though. the programs and all data is still
intact from the initial upgrade.

I then did a format again as i wanted a clean install. This time, it took only 20 mins to install the OS. faster than installing tiger for sure!

HERE IT IS! :D :D :D

all my sweat and tears doing hours of project work and drinking countless coffees to stay awake are all from this workspace. :D

snow leopards, presentations and the final destination

This week has been great, thankfully.

Had a good presentation for my website design proposal and also for my Final Year Projects commencing next year.

Went to watch final destination in 3D with Claudia, Samantha and Jessica. Wanted to unwind abit after the stressful
week and enjoy ourselves.

The movie's just ok, Could have been better. The 3D effect is awesome though! :D

Wasnt as bad as i expected. the work is not that easy, but yet manageable.

I still have to get used to communicating in the office using the email system, as everyone was like in one office together but we're talking through email. lol.
But it made sense though. we send our works through there too. Id thought we give them through thumbdrive or sth.

I edited a website, translated english to chinese, do up and designing a newsletter.
Time flies past quickly when i do design. Thats why im sure i WILL breeze though 5 weeks of work. :)

YESSS!!!!

Ive just gotten my results!!!

Oh how sweet it is with 6As and 1D

(pardon the D, i totally sucked at that particular module)

but its not meant to be.

what i had expected is just.. expectations.

the grades from the actual results were'nt what i had in mind. It was waaay off from 6As (and the D, did turned out to be true) that i wanted.

My biggest dissapointment is

I got B for Yuke Sasmitra's Graphic design. :'( I thought i had nailed it but i guess not :(

My GPA dropped to 2.8 from last sem's 3.1 :( :(

oh well.. just have to work harder. :)

Since i din really do well.. there wont be any thank you speech this time :(

WEEK 4 OF SEMESTER HOLIDAYS

has passed. and im feeling bored. seriously.
Okay, other than the occasional meetups with friends,
and soccer,

its really boring.

Heroes series will be back on september,
How i met your mother will be back sometime around that month too.

Ive got nothing to look forward to. Argh.

Other than Harper's island which is just okay. and family guy. but the episodes
arent coming out every week. which makes me wait. and keeps me waiting. and. that.
makes. me. irritated.

anyway,

ill be working at the upcoming pc show for dell again! :D
and i want to bring home lots of money. Just need to work hard lah.

Ive been nominated to be the NAFA orientation organising committee! cant wait for it. its gonna be awesome :D

Speaking of school,

I cant wait to get my school year 2 results. i wonder how well i did. (praying for A's)

AND

we tried to "last minute enter the crowbar awards" but it didnt happen. Me and kelvin thought we can just enter the competition by paying up the fees and submit our works on cd, but it wasnt that way.

we had to get our works through to the lecturers in charge first then can we proceed.
lol. I was like, shit man!, when i read the entry kit in detail. and the deadline's today. I texted my lecturer, Yuke for her help and luckily she did asked us to get to another in charge. But its all in vain. not as simple as we thought. Nevermind, we'll join the competition next time.

The Crowbar Awards are open to full time tertiary students worldwide. There are six categories open for entries, advertising, design, photography, interactive, film, and the Crowbar Challenge. The awards are run by the Association of Accredited Adversting Agents Singapore.

The Crowbar Awards were created in 2001, taking entries from Singapore students. In the year 2004, the Crowbar Awards expanded entries to a number of regions, until finally in 2005, when the awards were opened up to tertiary students worldwide.

Winning the crowbars is like winnng MTV awards for singers, The Oscars for actors. lol.

the graduation shows in school is just okay(for MM and VC works) but it was awesome for fashion design. if only our grad show is as grand the fashion ones
